K Ellingson Duo | 3:30 – 4:45pm

Kent Ellingson has been active in the DFW music scene for many years. Kent currently teaches applied jazz piano at Collin College, Plano, and at Eastfield College in Mesquite, where he also performs as pianist for the faculty jazz combo. He performs with his own jazz group (including wife Kay as vocalist) at several Dallas area venues. Kent has been a featured pianist at both the Sammons Jazz and the Dallas Jazz Piano Society yearly concert series, and has performed in past concerts with several jazz notables, including Randy Brecker, Ingrid Jenson, Bob Mintzer, Clark Terry, and Phil Woods.
Karl Lampman has been a freelance jazz saxophonist in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area for many years. Karl is a former tenor sax member of the esteemed 1:00 Lab Band at University of North Texas, where he obtained his masters degree in music. He has worked with Johnny Mathis, Buddy Greco, Frankie Avalon, among many other performers. Karl currently teaches jazz improvisation and songwriting at Eastfield College in Mesquite, Texas.

Pocket Tangerine is a DFW based jazz/funk/blues/fusion band that specializes in
“jazzifying” the best songs from classic video games we grew up with! They are known
for their creative and often nostalgic sound which includes covers and riffs from classic
video games. You can find information about their performances on their Instagram
page and on Facebook, where they share videos and updates on gigs and their music.
